This kit is designed to be worked with the instructions contained in Japanese Motifs in Stumpwork & Goldwork (Page 52)
The wings of the Amethyst Butterfly, one raised and detached, are worked in Or Nué, a goldwork technique in which the gold threads are couched down decoratively using coloured threads. As you can see here, colour and tone can be varied by using different
stitch spacings as well as shades of thread. The design has been embroidered on a square of vintage fabric, woven with silk and metal threads.
This goldwork embroidery kit contains all materials required to work this project.

Amethyst Japanese Butterfly
I have been waiting to get this kit for years and am so glad to have it now. Have to finish other projects before I can start this new one. Will join the Japanese Slate Butterfly I did years ago.
