This kit is designed to be worked with the instructions contained in Japanese Motifs in Stumpwork & Goldwork (Page 136)

A praying mantis, with detached metallic wings and wrapped-wire legs is the star of this small embroidered panel. Inspired by a Japanese family crest of a stylised lotus plant – this design also features a lotus flower and bud, with wired detached petals, and padded seed pods, all worked with silks and metallic threads on a piece of antique kimono silk.
