This kit is designed to be worked with the instructions contained in Japanese Motifs in Stumpwork & Goldwork (Page 108)
Using a combination of stumpwork and surface embroidery techniques, this small circular panel has been worked on ivory kimono silk, with a variety of silk threads, organza and beads. Inspired by a Japanese family crest of a stylized iris plant, this design features purple bearded iris flowers, with wired detached petals, and a mayfly (cleon dipterum), with detached gauzy wings and a beaded abdomen.
This stumpwork embroidery kit contains all materials required to work this project.
