This kit is designed to be worked with the instructions contained in Japanese Motifs in Stumpwork & Goldwork (Page 30)
The design for the Slate Butterfly was inspired by one of the many Japanese family crests featuring a butterfly. Employing traditional goldwork techniques, and a variety of gold and silk threads, gold kid and beads, this symmetrical medallion was embroidered on a scrap of old kimono silk. The finished piece would look beautiful as a brooch.
This goldwork embroidery kit contains all materials required to work this project.
