Taught over 3 classes
The design for this pincushion was inspired by one of the many Japanese family crests featuring the butterfly. Using traditional goldwork techniques, and a variety of gold metallic threads, silk, rayon and cotton threads, gold and bronze kid leather, and assorted beads and sequins, this square pincushion has been worked on prune-coloured silk dupion. It may also be worked on burnt orange, bronze or cerise silk dupion – a choice will be available at class.
If preferred, this piece may be worked as a panel to be framed.
This class is suitable for all.
