The design for these goldwork butterflies was inspired by one of the many Japanese family crests featuring the butterfly. Using traditional goldwork techniques, a variety of gold metallic threads, gold kid and beads, this small embroidered medallion may be worked on ivory or dark navy kimono silk, or the fabric of your choice. The finished panel may be framed or made into a brooch.
