This goldwork panel was inspired by a Japanese family crest featuring a stylised ginger plant motif. Using traditional goldwork techniques, and a variety of silk and metallic threads and green kid leather, this small embroidered medallion may be worked on cream silk or satin or the fabric of your choice. I used a small square of vintage kimono silk. The finished panel may be framed, mounted into the lid of a box, or made into a brooch.
