Worked on cream silk dupion, this small square panel features the Virginia Creeper in its various stages of development: from the small green beaded buds in the upper left corner; progressing, clockwise, to the pinkish blossoms with detached narrow boat-shaped petals; to the wrapped beaded berries - maturing from light green to dark reddish-purple - in the lower corners. The design frames a central embroidered Initial - worked in raised stem stitch and outlined with gold (a choice of letters will be offered). Hovering over the Initial is a Dragonfly, with gauzy raised wings and a detached abdomen - worked with iridescent bugle beads. This design may be worked with both the Initial and the Dragonfly, or with only the Initial or the Dragonfly – the choice is yours.
The finished embroidery may be framed or mounted into the lid of a box.
