This small stumpwork panel, inspired by a Japanese family crest of a stylised nandina plant, features crossed branches of nandina leaves, embroidered blossom and wrapped beaded berries; and a cicada, with a leather body and detached gauzy wings. Using traditional stumpwork and surface embroidery techniques, and a variety of silk and metallic threads, this design may be worked on ivory kimono silk, or the fabric of your choice.
This class is suitable for all.
