Invitation to a display of work and morning tea 2021/22

7th Oct 2021

Saturday 28th May 2022, 10.30 am - 12.30 pm

Our Annual Display of Work and Morning Tea planned for November 2021 had to be postponed due to Covid-19. I have rescheduled this event and am hoping that the extra time has given everyone a chance to
work on their challenge – or not!

The challenge was to produce a work that has been inspired by one of the following:

  • The Art Deco era - the design may be altered in any way that you wish – enlarged, reduced, simplified, or elements omitted – as long as the inspiration is drawn from an Art Deco source
  • An embroidery or project that will fit within a 10 cm square.
  • An embroidery or project inspired by a postage stamp.

Any technique may be chosen to work your challenge - stumpwork, goldwork, beading, canvas work, patchwork, appliqué etc. Any background fabric and any thread, fabric, beads etc may be used.

You are invited to display your response to this challenge, whether finished or as a “work in progress”, at a morning tea to be held in the Uniting Church Hall on Saturday 28th May, 2022.

Everyone is invited, whether you have participated in the challenge or not – it will be a great opportunity to catch up with old friends.

There is a charge of $5 for this event to help cover the hire of the hall.

Please RSVP in October, via email, to jane@janenicholas.com, to give us an idea of numbers for catering. We look forward to seeing you in May.
