Goldwork takes centre stage

The Coronation of King Charles and Queen Camilla earlier this year was a spectacular event, made all the more dazzling by a sea of military livery and velvet ceremonial robes heavily embellished wit goldwork.

Many of these uniforms and robes were restored for the Coronation, with ER II cyphers being replaced by new CR III cyphers, but some including Queen Camilla's stunning Robe of Estate were specially designed and hand-embroidered by the Royal School of Needlework for the event. Queen Camilla clearly shares Jane's love of wildflowers and insects!

Global shortage

All this regal needlework has led to a world-wide shortage of gold thread, with the repercussions felt even here in Australia, with several of our goldwork kits running out of stock whilst we waited for the necessary threads.

We are pleased to tell you that we have finally received a new shipment of English gold threads, so we can now offer limited quantities of all of our goldwork kits.

Needlework on Tour

It is with sincere regret that, due to unexpected health issues, Jane is unable to conduct her classes in person at the Embroiderers' Guild of America's "Seminar 2023", or the 2023 World Needlework Convention in London. Heartfelt thanks are extended to the tutors who have agreed to teach in her stead.

Bowral Morning Tea

Although Jane is not travelling overseas, her classes in Bowral are going ahead as planned.
