A tulip from the Turkish Tulip Tile forms the central motif in this elegant miniature tile.
Using stumpwork, goldwork and surface embroidery techniques, the diamond-shaped panel is worked on an ivory silk background with silks, gold metallic threads, beads and tiny spangles. The design features a red tulip with a detached petal, set in an ornate border worked in gold metallic threads and beads.
The tile may be framed or made into the lid of a box.
