Invitation to a display of work and morning tea 2019

Posted by Jane Nicholas on 31st Jul 2019

Saturday 16th November 2019

10.30 am – 12.30 pm, Bowral Uniting Church Hall

At the end of 2018 we had a display of work and morning tea which was much enjoyed by all. A “challenge” for 2019 was discussed and agreed upon by all present. The challenge is to work a design, in any technique requiring the use of a needle, inspired by the “box”:

  • “Box” – a cube or six-sided shape, or six “sides” presented in a flat format (deconstructed box).
  • It could be a box housing some stitching, or covered in stitching, or some stitching that was related to six “sides” – a “book” perhaps?
  • No size was specified – we didn’t want to be too prescriptive! Up to your imagination to think of something “inside or outside the box” :-)

You are invited to display your response to this challenge, whether finished or as a “work in progress”, at a morning tea to be held in the Uniting Church Hall on Saturday 16th November. Everyone is invited, whether you have participated in the challenge or not – it will be a great opportunity to catch up with old friends, and to discuss our workshop program for 2020.

There is a charge of $5 for this event to help cover the hire of the hall. Please RSVP, via email, to, to give us an idea of numbers for catering. We look forward to seeing you in November.

Due John’s ill-health (he is still battling on!), we have not run classes in 2019, but we hope to resume our usual workshop program in 2020.
